Default 500 HO/EFI Gas Mileage

Can you guys post some of your mileage figures with these machines. I would like a 700 or 800, but I think these machines are a little too thirsty for me.....

I traded my 800efi for a 500efi. I got around 60-65 miles per tank. I always carry a fuel pack or two so gas mileage was never a issue. I would not worry about how much gas it drinks because you can always carry extra . I love the 500-700-800 efi

I just picked up my Polaris X2 on Sunday. I only have 47 miles on it (4.5 hours) But I only used 2 gallons of gas. A very fair estimate of even 20 mpg. isn't bad at all. Now consider the fact that my X2 has a 6 gallon tank, I figure I have some pretty good range on this thing.

i dont have the efi but i do have a 2003 500 ho with carb and i can get about 120 miles before i hit reserve then i can get another 30 miles . so in all i can get around 150 miles on a 5.5 gallon tank. i love the 500 over the bigger machines just for that fact. rock on polaris 500 ho sportsman. the best wheeler on the planet.

i thought the 500 has a 4.75 gallon fuel tank. 150 miles on a tank is hard to beleave. you must go real slow and steady. must be nice if its true lol.

I really want the power of the 800. Are the 500's more reliable than the polaris liberty twin engines? I have heard that the 500 engine is damn near bullett proof...Are the 800s as bullett proof?

believe it or not but iv'e seen at least 5 different 500's get that same milage thats 150 miles per tank. i have tested it many times in all kinds of riding from long wide open roads going fast to slower rock climbing trails. you just need to ride a little more to find this out. test your 500ho and let me know how many miles per tank

Here in Alaska I went on a 26 mile easy trail averaging around 20-25 mph. When I got back I filled it up and it only took 1.5 gallons I think thats around 17.5 MPG. Thats on my 04 700 sp. Yesterday I got on it hard all day and the milage was considerably less.

riding @ a steady pace w/ only 60 miles or so on my 800 i avg. aroung 16 winch is great for that bike. that was going between 20 to 40 mph and no horseing around. im not calling any body a liar its just hard to beleave you got between 32 to 35 mpg. i also think my 02 500 ho had a 4.25 gallon tank. i guess i ride mine a little harder then most. good ridng.
