500 HO/EFI Gas Mileage
I'll have to double check on my odometer again just be absolutely sure, but it seems that my dealer misinformed me. My odo seems to trip in km instead of miles. I was curious when the last time I filled up about the 2mile odo reading from the gas station to my house (lease I think it was 2 miles .. that's what I have to double check) so last night I clocked it off in my car and sure enough .. it's 2km not 2 miles. So having said that .. my fuel economy has just taken a huge down-turn ..
Last fill up was 8.5litres, 1.9 imp gal and odo reading of 59.8.
In miles I was quite pleased with the near 32mpg rating.
Now however I will get roughly 20mpg. Damn dealers don't know what they're talking about.
And my cruising range has also just dropped to about 70 miles. Best get myself a gas can rack!!

Any Idea what I might get on a full tank on an 08' polaris sportsman 400 H.O.? Anything over 50 is fine with me. I dont ride to often but when I do I go for like 6 or so hours, I usually take a break about half way through to stretch and eat. Leave home at 10am. Eat at around 1pm, courtesy of the cargo box on the back of my friends 500. Then stop around 4-6pm and head home.
Just a hint: If you want to be able to ride whenever you want try to go easy on the throttle after around 9pm. (8:30 if you really are feeling generous. That way the younger kids wont be awaken by your engine and nobody can be mad for riding on their property. Also never ride on someones property if its not a trail or you dont have permission. S.O.S. (Save Our Sport). Same thing for snowmobiling.
