lighting on scrambler 50?
#1
now that the days are ultra short, i want to install one or two of these 55w halogen headlights on the boy's scrambler 50.
question: is the electrical system powerful enough to run one or two of these lights without draining the battery on every ride? has anyone else tried to do this or have any info?
thanks

4wheelindakota,
I believe that driving lights would drain the battery. The stator is not that big. Call the dealer & ask them how much power the stator is putting out.
We are thinking about the same thing for the kids quad.
Good luck

I ran a 35 watt driving light on my son's LT80,it was fine for most short rides, but once after a 3 1/2 hour ride with the lights on, the battery was too low to crank it over, luckily, I was able to find some old wire and crudely jump start it. If you can find a 35 or lower watt light, and make sure the quad runs for a little while after shutting the lights off, it should be ok. I always carry a small set of jumper wires now, only takes some 12 guage wire with some clips, takes up no room at all.

I was told by a dealer that I needed to upgrade to a 5amp/hour battery, my 90 Sportsman has a 4amp/hour battery, and there would be no problem.
I was also told by another dealer that a light kit was coming from Polaris for the kids' quads.
