Default What is the current charge of your battrery?

I left the key on overnight on my 800. It was dead the following morning. I have cycled it with the trickle charger a couple of times and after setting a few hours it will still only show 12.5 volts. The manual says that it requires a few more hours on the charger but I am pretty sure that I am maxed out. What kind of charge are your batteries holding? I was thinking about getting a spare anyway, I was just wondering what "normal" is for these machines. Thanks.

My 600 is running 12.2-12.5 average but never an issue starting with the original battery

Running should be over 13. For a full charge just sitting should be 12.8-13 according to manual.

Honestly have never checked, but I know my bigger truck battery, once the overcharge from the alternator wears off sits around 12.6-12.8 so I would imagine that an ATV battery, being just a smaller lead acid battery would be about the same.

Thanks guys, mine charges at 14 even when running. I have read the manual. I was just wondering what the average owner was seeing with the engine off and after the quad had sat for more than a few hours.
