I have an 03 Predator that dies after 1-2 minutes.
It has a LTE twin exhaust
Jetted at 42.5 and 175
Direct bolt on K&N

It will restart if I pull the choke and then of course it does it all over again.
Any guesses??

 

i think you need more on your pilot jet. My Pred didn't start real easy w/ my exhaust until i went up to a 47.5. this would explain why choking after it's warm makes it start again. hope this helps.

 

Jets are cheap, I'll give it a try. I know when it was doing this originally and I took the trip back up there, they fattened up the lower end, possibly still not enough. You'd think they'd no better with the dyno and all.

 

i know that '04s and '05s have 45s for pilots... i dunno if the jetting was different in '03? suppose it's possible, but if it's not, then you're actually running a leaner pilot then stock. that's why i figured it was your jets... good luck, and anyone w/ info on '03 jetting and whether or not it's the same please let us know. Where do you get your jets?? I can't find anything smaller than 50 for the Mikuni small heads.

 

my dealer gets them for me straight from Polaris. I imagine there are other places to get them, but that's how i do it... they're cheap enough at only around $3 a piece... Good luck and liek i said, keep us informed.
