Default Sportsman Carb vs. Predator Carb

I've searched on here for 2 nights without any luck. Have a 2003 sportsman 500ho with many mods, diff piston..cam..have the Mikuni 40mm CV carb on it like all the Sportsman HO's did. Been doing some research and noticed the Predator has a 42mm BSR carb. My question is would it be possible to put the Preddy carb on the sportsman 500? The only little niche that I read somewheres is the Preddy has a special fuel pump to supply the 42mm carb, does this sound correct? I'd really like to try it because what I really want to do is run mine with no airbox as I'm converting it over to a competition pull bike. Can't run the stock 40mm HO carb without an airbox because it needs the constant vaccum from the airbox but I know you can run a preddy without an airbox which is what I want! If anyone knows please let me know asap! Thank!!

We havn't done it but I'm sure it can be done. A stock predator can run without the fuel pump too I don't suggest it but it will work. You most likley should expect to have some jetting fun too if you decide to go with the predator carb, if do decide to try this and you need a pred. stk carb let me knwo I have a couple laying around.
