04' 700 is running bad. It has been on and off up to now.. Been using it for work, about 25 hours a week. Use it for pulling light trailers and back and forth. Always slow speeds, maybe up to 15 mph. First prob. it was dumping fuel out, changed needle seat (fixed). Weeks later running bad, found rubber boot btween carb and head torn, changed (fixed).

Last two weeks been bad again, temps are around 95-100, when you take it through water (1 1/2') deep slow, it bogs out for ten seconds clears up then spits out a lot of black smoke (rich). It ran fine for the most part except in the water... Now it does it on flat ground too. I drained the tank and carb no change. What else can I look for??????

It was purchased in North Dakota, would the dealer have done it before we picked it up? Machine has been in a few times in ND for basic stuff.. What does that change? ATV is now in AZ..

 

its simple but make sure your intake isnt clogged-- the foam cushion at gas tank can get inthe intake if not installed correct. just a thought.

more late nite thinkin-- check plugs(polaris500HO4x4 is right) make sure you blow all the crud out of the lousy designed hole that the plugs are in before removing them! the stock champion plugs foul once and never run good again. I got NGKs choke aint stuck?

 

Had that happen on another machine once too. I pulled it off on this one same....

New plugs..
It feels like the slider plate with the diaphram hangs. Almost like the choke is on then clears up. I not sure where the vacuum signal comes from but the diaphram is good(no tears/leaks). The plate was changed when needle and seat was. Moves freely no hanging.. That is where I feel the problem is... But why in water first now all the time.. It was always intermittant.. That to me ruled out plugs filter fuel.....
