I am looking at purchasing a 1995 polaris 400 4x4 liquid cooled two stroke. I am nervous about the 2-stroke part. Is there any problems I should be aware of? I will be sport riding and ice fishing with the machine. Also the guy is asking $1500, is this a good deal? Any help would be great thanks.

maybe a little pricey if the compression is down, check compresion, cold wide open throttle then you'll known right away if you'll have to spend after the buy.they're pretty reliable as much the piston skirts are not there.
check the front and rear sprocket also, they're cheap designed and to be maintain a lot.
the tie-rods end on those also total crap, check if they're not bend already.
chain tensioner stock is a mess too, check if it isn't sticking the chain alrady.
