Default Sincere question: is the 800EFI really only 760cc's

I almost bought one of these monsters...someone mentioned last week that Polaris "rounds off" engine size to the nearest (highest) number. Is this really true? I didn't know this. Interested in hearing from the pro's on this one. Thanks.

You said that you did quite a bit of research when deciding what to get. Did you read the spec sheet? Try a search on here? Ask the dealer? Yup, 760cc.

All of the compaines do it b ecasue of the bigger is better mentality we have here in America. Also Canada too. I think that BRP/CAN-ANM is the only true 800 out there.

yes its only 760cc's but that dosnt mean its slow, its the second fastest Ute in production non the less. if it where a true 800 like their supposed to be made for 2007, then im confident in saying it will kick the BRP800's ***

You took the words right out of my mouth. It's obvious to me that little reseach was done.

Don't be too hard on me guys....When someone advertises an 800cc machine...I assumed (ignorantly) that we are talking 800cc's( or at least close). In the past i have seen machines that were not "exactly" the advertised size...for example...
Suzuki King Quad is 697 cc...O.K. I understand this...close enough. My point is that Polaris stretches this quite a bit don't ya think? Hey...don't get upset at me...I didn't advertise this. I am only asking you guys about it.

I'm not the one getting defensive. Just stating the obvious. You are the one who has been saying that you compared the machines extensively. You're missing the point. No one is arguing that it is a 760cc machine marketed as an 800cc machine. The point that we are making is that you are the one who conducted the research and didn't know the displacement of the engine. No one is upset with you because it is only 760 cc. We are just expressing our surprise at the fact that you just figured it out after posting several times that you spent so much time pining over the decision.

Lawdog...It's true...that one slipped by me. As I said...I just "assumed" that I was dealing with a true 800. Really my observations were more to do with weight, clearance and service history.

Anyway...how do you like yours?
