Default help need info on 2005 sp 800

i have an 800 as u can tell and im looking to buy a few things. first the tires would be nice to change. what would happen if i went with an aggressive 25 inch? instead of 26. i ride lots of mud and fairly often on hard clay trails with plenty of smaller rocks. also i found an aftermarket pipe that replaces the dual with one. i know that the dual is fake anyways. also wut about putting a k&n filter. last question is how much do programmers really boost power. please help me im lost!!!!! thanks

well as far as tires why would want to go smaller? i just orderd a set of m.lites xtr 27" on itp rims for mine just so i would have the best of all worlds. as far as the exhaust goes do a serch on here about it and u'll find some good info on people who have done it and thier results. from what i read you gain some and loose some so i dont know if its worth it. dont know about the p commender. would like to know myself.

my favorite subject, 800 hop-ups.

hokay so, the 800 is already much much more than powerfull for any type of mud condition, so moving to a smaller tire would be worthless. a larger ITP 589 or comperable tire would be fantastic for you. to regain some of the power loss i would suggest a HeelClicker clutch kit. A K&N and an exhuast would be a nice addition for audible quality, though the power gains with be short of good. I mean, you'll be able to tell a noticeable power increase, but what really wakes the 800 up is a cam. www.hotseatperformance.com sells a cam for the 800 that will wake it up just short of awesome. then thats where the EFI programmer comes in, its perpose is self explanitory.

you'll end up dropping alot of money on performance, but if its what you want, it'll be worth every penny

I got the 05 800 and have been reading about these performance upgrades. Money will dictate what I can do with it though. So with the 800, by what I have read so far, the things for the best increase in performance is the new cam, clutch kit, new dual exhaust, and possibly the power commander programmer. Its a fair amount of money as is anything good, but with doing these, how much actual power increase will I see over stock? Has anyone put the new cam in their 800? If so, how much of a increase was there? The cam would be a challenge for me to install on my own, I would probably have to find someone to help me or take it in somewhere to do it. I dont like the idea of taking it in somewhere, as that would cost me a ton. Same with the new clutch though to.

Thanks

Rob

i dont have the exact numbers, but Hot Seat Performance makes the cam for this baby, you'd have better luck asking SpeedWerx on this forum for the numbers. I do know though that when they installed it, the results were nothing short of amazing. they had to add weights to the clutch to keep the motor from over revving there was so much power. with that being said, i estimate that all said and done with the cam, power commander intake and exhuast your pushing 62 horsies at the crank
