Sorry, I didn't know it was going to post as soon as I hit return. Anyway, today I purchased a 2004 ATP500 H.O. (what does HO stand for?). I never ridden a quad before, and I haven't even seen this one. I send money to my nephew in Maine, and he told me it was in mint condition with no scratches anywhere. I paid $4200 for it, and it has 70 hours on it. Hopefully, that wasn't too much.
I plan on plowing a 750 ft. driveway in Maine when it snowed so I wanted a 4 wheel drive on demand so the wheels won't slip in the snow. I also have a 3 acres of grass to cut, so I wanted a turf mode. I also wanted to have some fun, and the 330 seemed underpowered. And I wanted to get it used. So this was the only one I saw that met all of my requirements.

I hear quite a bit of bashing of Polaris on one hand, but on the other, quite a bit of praise. It's quite confusing.
Do you need to garage these things or will just a cover due just fine?
I take it this ATP is based on the sportman 500, outside the transmission and the rear axle, are there any other differences?
I'd like to put a front grill on it, yet I want to also have a plow and winch. How do you know which bumpers match which plow that match what winch?

As far as cutting the grass, I see all sorts of attachments, but they all have engines on them. I don't want to maintant? any more than I have too. Doesn't someone make a reel mower for these things so I just have to pull it?

Any advise on how to get started would be appreciated
thanks
Katuzo

More questions
Why do they refer to ATV as bikes? I owe a Honda Magna, and it don't look, feel or ride like an ATV.

Can you strap a babyseat into the back of an ATP? I'm just talking about when I'm mowing or gently riding, no mud for me. I'm sure jr will love it, and he'll be out of mama's hair.

Thanks;
Katuzo
