first of all i want to know why the high beam had blown out. could be your recifier is crapping out. its what controlls the voltage to your charging system. if the lights are running dim aslo it could be a bad ground issue. my 2 cents

Notice any problems with the 4x4 not working? On my '01,I realized the 4x4 didn't work way before the lights looked dim. Of course mine was running 5 lights, so I wasn't upset about low voltage. You should be able to check without spinning the tires. On mine, if the indicator for 4x4 came on, then it was in 4x4.

My guess is you need a new voltage regulator. On that model I believe it’s mounted in front of the radiator. Before you do that it wouldn’t hurt to check the specific gravity of the fluid in each of your battery cells to see if the battery is marginal.
