Bigger back sprocket will give you more low end power. You may also lose some top end speed.

I wouldnt mess with the gearing.Try a K&N air filter and a EPI pink primary clutch spring. This will get you a better shift rate and keep you in the power range you need to be in.The filter will liven up the lowend some too.
Polaris are differant than the other brands. You tune your clutch to what you need rather than change sprockets most of the time.

Grab a ten speed bike and watch the rear sprocket see what gives you more power vs. speed

Try www.erlandsonperformance.com or RcR for a spring.

I'd definitely say give Rick a call. (618) 644-3211

Get the stage 1 kit, and ask for the pink EPI spring.

I got the kit for my 2000 and it really gave it some bottom end.

it will not add power to the engine, but give more'usable' powerband at the trigger, polaris atvs' and sleds are generally geared too high for factory application, now if you want more low end, gear down a little, but
you'll need to follow close what the primary clutch is doing as to known what helix it should fit best in the secondary,it depend on engine compression and power and some others factor as altitude and air density.
make a black pencil mark on the primary sheaves til the very top to see what the system is at now, after a ride
(you must wide open throttle for a least 1/2 miles to fully close the sheaves)remove the clutch cover back
and you'll see what happen with the belt before going messed-up the gearing.
