Default Ranger belt problems

A friend bought a new 700 Ranger about 5 months ago.

He been through about 5 belts. They last about a month or so and then they break. The belts fly into pieces.

I can't see anything wrong with the clutches.

He does not ride it really hard.

Does anyone have any idea why it is so hard on belts.

Sounds like he likes to drive in High gear too much ... unless you are driving over 20mph ... keep it in low.

Many of the Rangers come from the factory with misaligned clutches. I haven’t had this problem but I do know it’s been an issue. Do a web search on PRC (Polaris Ranger Club). They have a good forum and are a very helpful community. I’m sure you’ll find more specific information there if you ask or do a search on their forum.

Check clutch alignment, and belt deflection. Did he change tires?? Sounds like belt is getting really hot?
