Hey guys~
I am just wondering about the sound of the RCR pipe compared to the HPD pipe. I just read A400L's reply in Xplor's latest post. I see he has used both pipes so I was just wondering how much louder is the RCR pipe? Also did you use the RCR silencer or the HPD? Thanks for any replies!!

I have always used a RCR silencer. Where I ride sound is not an issue. For a state park the requirements are minimal compared to other places I've ridden.

Anyway Ritter's silencer is a bit louder than most, but after eveybody that sees my bike picks their jaw up off the ground I always get compliments on how my bike sounds.

I use Renthal "banshee spec".

The Honda in front is a 250R with a CT310 kit. This pic was taken after about 100 yards. He did get me by about 2-3 lengths, but I had him whooped out of the hole untill then. The guys behind be are on 250R's with basic mods (pipe/carb, ect.) and only got farther behind as we went.

I just installed the HPD pipe with there silencer. It is loud and I cant imagine what RCR must sound like if its louder. The reason I went with HPD was because I could use the stock silencer. I have been told it makes it alot quieter (I have not tried it yet). You lose 3% HP if you use the stock but it is very quick to change. HTH

"In my eyes, the louder the better"!

I went w/ the RCR pipe and silencer. I have never heard the HPD but read that it was'nt as loud as the RCR. Performance gains were the same, so I went w/ the RCR combo.

I used to have the Stage 1 kit on my Sport. It was pretty loud. Sounded like an RM 250. I then went with the HPD nickel plated pipe, along with their Spark arrestor silencer. It was a lot quieter, and has a nice, throaty sound to it.
