Default Radiator Drain plug issues.

Has anyone messed with their radiator drain plug. If so do you all know what size and thead pitch it has. I'm trying to find a brass replacement for the plastic POS installed. I can't get it tight enough to stop if from driping. This all happened after draining the Radiator. I'd like to get the part before I re-drain my coolant system so I don't tie up my gradge for a day or two whil I rack down the part. Thanks.

Anyone??? It's leaking and I don't want to get a new OE plug to have it leak again in the future.

I have never tried to take that off before because just that reason. I always remove the hose instead. Did you try some plumbing tape on it. Might help.

I should have know also but I though it might be like the ABS ones in car radiators. So at this point I've got a new one on order. I'll put it in a thread guage and find a good brass replacement and solve the problem for good. I used a bigger pair of pliers to turn it in further tonight. We'll see if it holds until next week.
