I sold my V-Force on Ebay for a thousand and a half more than I thought I would be able to get for it. Took 2 tries, but it was gone in 2 weeks. Had it in the local want-ad for over a month!
Local want-ad just generated annoying phone calls from idiots offering me $2,500 for a 1 yr. old machine.

You still get a fair share of idiots that try to get it for less than its worth on ebay too. When my 700 engine was giving me problems I tried selling the whole machine on ebay cause I figured I'd rather get in to a 500 or smaller. When everyone kept coming up offering prices of $1000 or $1200 and none of them really wanted to purchace one that didn't run right, so I just gave up and purchaced a crashed scrambler (about $1250) with a 500 and put that in. The 500 engine has been running great and uses half the gas the 700 was using.
Otherweise I'd say using ebay would be more likley to sell faster. One of the best things you can do is give good description of it and have good clear photos. The more photos the better too.

I know personally, I'd never buy a motor that had been apart. You never know how the work was done and exactly why it was apart.
I also don't buy any computer parts that can be overclocked. You never know if or how far they were pushed.
But that's just me.
