I've got the 2500. Used it maybe 6 times with no problems. No heavy duty pulling and nothing from long distance. I just have it for security. I couldn't see dropping $400 or more on something I would use sparingly. Just my $.02.

Was hoping that there would be a less expensive winch comparable to the WARN. Sounds like the VIPER may not be a good deal. But it does look like maybe the Gorilla winches might be a good deal. Thanks for your input.

They are absolute garbage. Slow, no HP, and will leave you stranded. A Warn is in my opinion worth it, especially a 3000 lb Warn.

i bought a gorilla 3000lb winch and mount from ebay for my 500efi polaris and have used it a couple of times. so far i like it. and the mount and instructions are great! perfect fit and brand specific instructions made it very easy install.
i have also heard good about the viper too i just decided the gorilla no reason really.
