I was wondering the top speed of a sportsman 500 efi ??

 

roughly 55 for them, 05-06 about 55, 04 and under anywhere from 60-67

 

So if i bought a 07 big bear 5 speed man would it keep up on flat roads with the 06 500 efi sportsman ? that would be my buddys atv and i will also be riding with a bombardier 400 outlander. I just want to know if i can even keep up with them ? the polaris most importantly

 

If my speedo is correct on my 04.5 500HO it will run 55 and it can hit about 60 going downhill.

 

it all depends on your clutch and belt. i got 53 with the stocker, 58 with the second belt and 56 with the 3rd one. the second and third belts were the same. any difference in the belt will change your top speed.

 

Not sure what the new BigBears are like, if anything like the earlier versions, then no, you won't keep up. The Big Bears have traditionally been geared low for work. My buddy has an 89, which has selectable hi-low, and his tops out around 65-70km/hr and it sounds like it's ready to explode at that point.

The outty 400 and sportsman 500efi both go about the same speed, roughly 55mph. Don't know which one is quicker, but the outty has a rep for being the fastest/quickest of the 400's and noted for being able to hang with all but the fastest of the 500's.

I should clarify I guess .. it won't keep up in flat-out speed riding. If you're just puddling along in no big hurry, then you'll be fine.
