Had my 2004, 600 w/K&N and Polaris Hi-Perf Canister on a wheel dyno when it had about 900 miles on it. The factory jets were rich but with some trimming to the snout we got close to a good mix.... don't know if it is good or bad but we were just shy of 30 hp, like 29.89 on the best run. Any buddy else got real numbers to share? Again this was a wheel dyno running real tires...

29HP seems terribly low for a Sportsman 600. then again your testing at the rear wheel and your CVT would probably lose a lot of power since your not dynoingat the crank. correct me if im wrong

Yes, at the rear wheels. It plotted the curve and all the usual stuff. Grass roots, I usually run neck and neck with the Honda 650's, but was hoping to put some science behind it. I am soon to try a spring that should lower the upshift rpm. I would like to beat them by a smirk. When it was new I would get 64 mph according to the pod. It starts and runs better but doesn't go any faster... maybe even slower?

Sounds about right for rwhp. At the crank it is something like 38hp.

Polaris (2007) at the CRANK

Hawkeye 300=17
trailblazer 330=19 hp
Phoenix 200=13 hp
sportsman 450=29.7 hp
Sportsman 500 Ho (carb) 34.5hp
Sportsman 500 EFI/x2/Scrambler 500=36 hp
Predator 500 = 48 HP
Outlaw 500 = 48.6 HP
700 EFI= 44 HP
800 EFI/ 800x2 = 50.2 HP

All Numbers are Numbers supplied by Manufacturers to the California Air Regulation Board for emissions testing.

Notice the 800 is available in x2 format, and also the Scrammy 500 list the same hp as the 500 EFI, perhaps it gets EFI also.

I have listed all other manufacturer numbers up in the outpost.

=======================================
FYI…

Most dealers have spec books containing this information. You can also do searches on message boards and the internet for "certificate of origin" (or some version
of that, along with "hp" and see what owner's certificates say) and sometimes see ratings.

Here's a list I've been compiling for a LONG time (some may be off a little, but most I have checked with more than one source):

Arctic Cat (Suzuki engines, except the kawi-powered V2, and arctic cat's own H1):
500: 32 hp @7000 rpm, 34 lb-ft torque at 3500 rpm (2003 and up have slightly detuned Vinson engine): (pre-03 had 28/30.5)
300: 14 hp
650 V2: 41 hp (close to prairie 650)

Bombardier (Rotax engines):
Outty 800: 62 hp @ ? rpm, 52tq @ 5500rpm
Quest 650: 42 hp
Outty 400: 28 hp

Honda:
Rincon 650: 39 hp
Foreman 450: 24 hp
TRX 300: 16 hp
400EX: 27 hp
300EX: 21 hp
TRX450R: 42 hp (questionable)

Kawasaki:
BF750: 51 hp
Prairie 700: 46 hp
Prairie 650: 42 hp
V-Force 700: 51 hp

Polaris:
SP800: 55 hp/50 tq
SP700: 45 hp * More with 8hundy setup
SP500: 30 hp
SP500 HO: 38 hp (same as scrambler 500)

Suzuki:
KQ700: 49 hp
KQ300: 14 hp
LT500: 53 hp
Eiger 400: 25 hp
Vinson 500: 34 hp

Yamaha:
Grizz 660: 42 hp/35 tq
Warrior/Wolverine 350: 18 hp

These are brake hp ratings (BHP) from the factory... there will some variances from quad to quad (usually within 1-2 hp/tq of the above ratings). Hope this helps someone out there....

The HP on the Warrior is actually 18 at the rear wheels. On the crank it's around 24 (give or take a few tenths.
