K&N Drop In/Replacement for the 500 Sportsman!!!
Thanks, for the info but what do you think about them not being as good as a foam filter as Matt said??? I have to admit I looked at the K&N and the So called filter that Polaris put in it. And to me there is no comparission, the stock filter looks like it was crafted out of TP LOL. Sorry for the sarcasim but I'm serious the stock filter and not to mention stock pre charger really looked chinsy!!!

For a replacement filter it will work great. They are pretty rigid and don't seem to loose shape like some of the foam filters over time. I have seen the foam get old and and start coming apart. Yes it takes awhile but it can happen. I have over 20,000 miles on my scrambler and a K&N has been on there for over 19,000. No problems with it at all. I have washed it out countless times.

Cool Sounds good, I was just concerned with his post saying the K&N could reek haviock on the EFI's allowing small particles of dirt in that the foam wouldn't. Forcing you to clean your Throttle Body alot..Ps. just a side note can't belive the K&N don't offer and HP increase??? I could seeing it being so minute that you don't realize it, but I would have to say your motor is breathing better with it then without it.....just a oppinion!!! Take Care

Just make sure you clean it and re-oil it often and you should be fine. It’s the oil that stops the dirt not the red woven material. The woven material is there to hold the oil. That’s why I like my Uni Filter. 2 stage foam filter with oil. If I miss a spot when I re-oil the foam will still stop most of the dust.
