I do mine about every other year but it depends on how many hours you ride. I don't ride mine
as much as I use to but they do get pretty dirty.

if you ride alot, once every year seems to be the schedule. i have had mine for a few years now and repacked it twice. each time i do, the packing is about half burnt out. usually burning from the front to the back. it also depends on the quality of packing you use. go to a motocross shop and ask them for the most durable packing they sell... thats what i have now and it has held up longer than times before.

In the documentation that came with my WB can your supposed to check and repack every 10-12 hours. That seems a bit excessive. I would say every 50 hrs or so that's what my other preformacne pipes recomended. I belive that you can repack with any high quality fiber glass insulation.

you guys are drilling out the rivits.....then what do you put back to hold it?

repacking means repacking the pipe. perfermance pipes need to be repaked. if you have a stock pipe, it has a baffler in it and doesnt require repacking.
