I got my 1986 TB to start this weekend and when it did, it went wide open so I hit the kill switch - but after that I could not get it started? 2 questions - if your batt is not charged will you not get good spark? but it will still turn over?

and is the throttle cable connected to the oil pump and not the carb? it seems free and smooth but when it starts its WIDE open.

you may want to remove everything to physically check the throttle cable. It sounds as if the cable is stuck somewhere close to the carburator

 

does the throttle cable run into the oil pump? and the choke to the carb? thats what it seems on mine...

 

The choke has it's own cable to the carb! the throttle and oil injecter are on the same cable and it plits close to the gas tank. check the oil injector lenkage also for up and down movemant!
