Default Considering 2006 500HO Carb Have Questions

I'd say go for the EBS. When I purch. our '05 SP400 the dealer installed it for $100, which i thought was not bad. See if you can get him to install for $100 or less. When we bought our SP500 I wanted the '05 over the '06 carb. A couple of things that are different from the '05 to the '06 is the '05 has PXT tires and you have to tap the foot brake to move into "High" and "Park". The '06 slides into "high" and "Park" without hitting the foot brake. I like hitting the footbrake myself because it makes it easier to toggle between "Low" & "Reverse" without having to look at the pod to see what gear I'm in. I didn't feel the need to go with EFI for the added cost.

Happy Trails to ya!

Default Considering 2006 500HO Carb Have Questions

I have a pair of the 2006 500SP EFIs and I think they are great so far. I have not had any issues with either of them. My wife rides one so it is still under 100 miles. Mine has spent some time in the mountains, creeks, rocks, etc. and is at 300 miles and still going strong. I wouldn't hesitate to buy another one and would buy the EFI over the carb model again.

good luck,
chad

I have 2600 miles on my 06 500 efi. No problems other than the false "hot" reading. I put 5000 miles on my 700 efi with no problems. Cold weather starting, throttle response and economy all better with efi....

I have an 06 500ho carbed and it starts great in the winter and sometimes without even using the choke. The lock out on the 05 shifer is a plus, just like FarmBoy said. I cant help you on the EBS I have not riden a Polaris with it. I did read where a dealer raced a EFI and a carbed and it was an even race.
