Zerk locations for Magnum
#1
I went to check out the parts manual for these locations and found out that I'd have to download this Acrobat reader, that I will not need for anything else ever. Thought I'd just ask ya'll to tell me which ones I'm missing.
I found top steering under pod, bottom steering - front of both front struts - side of both front A arms - are the ones for the rear suspension arms under those rubber side caps on each side ? Just pull the caps off ? Where are the others hiding?

i beleive your missing 5 fittings on the front.
first 2 are on the front axles on the inside closest to the differential, roll the wheels so the axle turns, youll see a fitting in the middle of the u-joint..other 3 are on frt drive shaft,1st is right where it connects to the frt differential,on that ujoint, the other is on the other end of the same shaft and the 3rd is on the slip collar of the frt driveshaft, closest to the engine..the rear is just 1 i beleive, the rear drive shaft where it connects to the tranny is another u joint..you have to get all 4 wheels off the ground so you can turn the shafts and axles to access them..if i remember right thats should be it

Hey Farmr123 -
On the single axle suspension, in the rear of course, there are two rubber caps on each side of the swingarm. They are about 3 inches in diameter, and fit rather loosely. The caps have the Polaris snowflake emblem on them. Are there any grease fittings for the rear swingarm, and do these rubber caps cover anything that needs servicing.

You will find yourself using the parts manuals for all sorts of quad projects. I find myself refering to them just to see how certain pieces are assembled so that I understand what people on this forum are taking about. Print the manual off and keep it as long as you own the quad. Glad I could help.

It is my understanding that the rear swingarm pivots on the Magnum models are now permanently lubricated. The caps are there for servicing the 'hinge' or whatever you want to call it. I could be wrong, but I think there is nothing to do behind the covers unless the hinge point starts getting loose or binds.
It is kind of a mixed blessing, being sealed. The zerk behind the rear of the belt cover is a bear to get at, but I still like the idea of being able to put in fresh grease if you go in muck deep enough to get it submerged.
Don't forget to check hub oil level every now and again. Takes only 5 minutes and can be a lifesaver. If a leak develops, the oil will likely be gone before you notice the spot on the garage floor.
