I would save the $1000 and buy the X2. you can't tell me you've never done a job around the house/woods/ect where a little extra storage would have come in handy and the racks just weren't big enough or was to akward to use a rack and needed a bed.
how about a little stone project around the house, woodchips for the Mrs's flowerbeds, firewood, extra gear for a longer ATV ride, a chainsaw to clear that big log 3 miles in.
the bed has a practicle purpose imo. it's dual purpose- but i agree it's either or.(seat or storage). but's that's the way it was designed! if you wanted a dump AND 2-up that thing would be 12' long! LOL!
i think the Outty Max XT is one mean machine! it's a TERRIFIC 2-up! no-one can criticize it's capabilitys OR comfort for both driver AND passenger. watch the Bomb DVD to see it's performance capabilities. it's incredibly impressive!
BTW,who saw the '07 Polaris's? are they out yet? i don't think so.

Mtpockets,
Ok I agree! If you had the dump there will be times when you might throw something in there.
But Polaris has made a major effort to provide a box to do minor chores that I would use my trailer or rack for otherwise. And to do so they sacrificed my ability to tour comfortably! Unacceptable!
Given the sales of Kimpex seats (and OL Maxs') and the relatively poor sales performance of the ATP, you would guess Polaris would have placed more emphasis on a comfortable seating/rack arrangement!

i don't think your dissin. the fact that your passenger isn't comfortable on the X2 but IS on a Max should be respected. (to each their own!)
