Sounds like alot of sour grapes guys. Who cares what any magazine may or may not pick as ATV of the year!? They didn't pick a Grizzly, and I could care less. I love to ride my Griz, and it thrills me more everytime I ride it! I would hope the same is true of all of us. As long as we are happy with what we ride, who cares what any one thinks or says about it?! Just my personal opinion.

800twin,
Along the same lines. Should Honda and Polaris have a repair-off, just to see who has the longest list? I have no doubt that a Polaris would out pull a Honda. At the same time I have no doubt that Honda has a hell of alot less repairs. Which one is better? Who cares! If your happy with what your riding then thats the best.

Rick

One more thing. Its easy to challenge someone you know you can beat. Maybe Polaris should challenge John Deere to a pull-off. Like perhaps a lawn tractor? What do ya think? I know someone on this forum that did it. I'll let him tell you who won, if he see's this post anyway.

Even if there was not a H.O motor on a SP ,the first 96 model would win the shootout just due the superior suspension and 4wd system. The Magnum 500 had close to the same power as the Rubicon that it was not worth mentioning and thats from Honda loving Dirtwheels comparison.

I thought that our xpedition 425 cc 5-speed had a chance to win it this year. After all; all year long I have read article after article praising the machine. How tough it is. Considered one of the toughtest atv's. How smooth it is. Every article talked about it having the smoothiest 5-speed yet. It is shaft drive, so we dont have to
even worry about belt slippage. If which utility atv is the fastest is what is considered, then too
much is being left out. I believe that if you take
every catagory that matters. The 425 xpedition could be the best in reality. That is my opinion. It does not matter that it has not been a big seller. Overall performance in all the catagories is what matters. When I first bought it. SOme people said I was taking a chance buying something new from polaris. Well after more then 1 and 1/2 years now and over 1000 miles now. I have been tickled to death with the machine.

There are quite a few trails where I ride that I can ace with my truck, no problem, that I won't even try to take my quad down. Its not that it won't make it, its just how much damage am I will to accept just to say I made it. I tried some of those roads with my Kodiak and rolled it once, and flipped it twice! The exact same roads are a piece of cake with my truck. So there are roads where a full size can make it easy, that a quad would struggle with, or not make it at all! I think the Rubicon is one of those trails.

And speaking of putting something old into something new, didn't honduh have an old trail bike with a hydraulic automatic? Seems so I remember hearing about it or something. And on the yamaha commercial, it says the kodiak is some magazines(dirtwheels or sumthin') atv of the year, too, so now what?
