Just a little update on the melted side. The dealer called Polaris and there replacing the rear palstics and the Rt side cover. There also repalcing my belt under warranty as it is questionable. I've hear this a hundred times and it true. It all about the dealer you choose to buy from and have service your ATV. I should have the bike by by the end of the week. PoPo is also sending the updated parts with the update heat sheilds and what not to insure that I don't have the same issue again.

madmatt how many miles do you have on your 06? And where are you getting the header pipe from? my 06 is getting very hot just like my 05 plastic hasn't melted but it's turning into rubber when I ride it. not very happy but anyway keep us updated thanks.

Patrol,

I have about 40 hrs and 150 miles. Yes I do a buch of technical riding and I also use my quad to pull for landscaping so if has a bunch of low speed hrs on it. I got my pipe off ebay from breezelawn and garden. I got the Kit with the WB can. IT was about 300 delivered so it was a sweet deal. I went to Disconthondaparts.com got get new gaskets.... I used moore power coating to get the pipe coated. I had it back in less than 5 days. PM me for more details.

I had the infamous "exhaust so hot it melts the plastic issue" on my '06 X2, but resolved it thanks to DSLKSL's recommendation in another thread. I utilized DEI brand header wrap, stainless steel ties, silcone heat spray, and reflective tape to implement a complete heat reduction/control protocol. Time consuming to do it right, but I followed all the instructions faithfully. Bottom line, it works GREAT! I'll report back to the group on how it continues to work...
