Default Magnum 425 not charging

My friend has a 1998 Magnum 425, and it seems as tho it does not supply enuff charge to keep everything running. Such as lights and other electrical stuff. He has had the stator checked at a shop and they said they found it to be good. I noticed when he rides at night his lights do get way dimmer than they should be, but they do not shut right off. He replaced a little relay type thing near the battery, but before he did that his lights would shut right off. The machine runs perfect even when all the electrical goes. He does not have a winch so thats not causing too much drain. Please help us out this has had me stumped for too many months. IWe appreciate any help greatly. Thanks.

The wire going to the battery for recharge could be bad or have a bad connection
