Default 500 ho hard to crawl over rocks?

HELLO,
My wifes new 500 ho seems to be difficult to crawl slow ,like my magnum and her old magnum does.We went to a very rough place this weekend where you have to crawl along, dragging your belly pan most of the way.In low gear with our magnums we could hold the throttle slightly and it would creep over the rocks very slowly never having to add more throttle or less. With the 500 ho when you come up on a rock, you would have to give more power to climb over it,then when you started over it you had too much power thus having to let off.Its hard to keep the throttle engaged. We have put 600 miles on it now and havent got the hang of it yet .Is this the nature of the beast? Is it that low is higher geared on an ho?I know she hasnt burned the belt, she always shifts when i stop to shift,so i doubt this the problem. whats up with this machine,is it made to keep on reasonable trails. Thanks

Some machines are geared lower than others, I have to tap my throttle to climb over rocks also, but mt belly pan rarely bottoms out. (lol, 14inches ground clearance)

That has alot to do with the clutching. The magnums have a little bit more tame clutch set up most likley. The Cam's are different too and that can make for a difference in throttle response

V2-

Bigger boots for bigger stories, I really
like how AC puts on their DVD (new operator)
an AC pulling out a stuck Polaris.

Someone is jealous, or has a huge problem with AC. You got me all wrong, alot of my friends ride Polaris, and i dont have anything against them. I made a friendly joke about my Ground clearance, which is actually a FACT, and you basically said its not true. And it is

I actually DON'T have any problem
with AC or your ground clearance, not
jealous here, just calling you on your
candid remark. Enjoy your ride!
