Default Pred 500 CDI, Help?

My aftermarket CDI burned out on my 2003 Pred 500. It is piped and jetted with K&N.
I see various replacement CDI's on the web. Anyone got any advice on which to get or not get. I really don't want to spend the $400 on the programmable ones unless they are truly worth it? The $90 to $139 units include: Big Gun, Procom, CDI-Predator, Rev-Max, Ricks ATV.
Any advice??

gotta ask..what was wrong with a stock CDI?

Dyna FS seems to be the dominate aftermarket CDI..I've heard nothing but bad things about the cheap ones ..it seems they retard the staring curve for Preddy's..making them very hard and sometimes impossible to start.

My advise is going back to stock..check out Predatorowners.com

Very good source of info there!

I use to have a predator that as a big gun cdi. I love it...it was worth it and u could feel the difference in rpm. It doesnt give you more power but it makes your rpm range longer

I see White Bros also makes one.
Anyone have experience with that one?

I guess I will call Rath and Nicholas and see what they say.
