Default 2000 Polaris Trailblazer Silent Chain

Does anyone know anything about the silent chain in a 2000 polaris trailblazer transmission?
If the quad idles and moves forward very slowly it is fine but any more than that it makes a
horrible clicking/grinding sound. It almost sounds like rocks in a blendor. The dealer told me
it was the silent chain and wanted upwards of $800 just in labor to take the transmission out.
So we decided to do it ourselves. We got it off just fine and opened it up, it appears that
the chain is loose and I can see where it rubs and is hitting the outer housing of the transmission. When I turn the gears manually with my hand, it appears that the chain starts to comes off the gears. I am assuming that the chain is in fact the problem and needs to be replaced? Does anyone have any input or experience with this? As far as I can see the gears look fine, there are no teeth missing or anything.
Also, does anyone have any suggestions on where I can order this part online? The only
site I have found thus far is bikebandit.com

Thanks so much for your help!!

Check either Partsland or Ronnies.

I fear the same problem with the wife's. Not looking forward to working on it. Specially since it's taking away from riding the new quad.

While you have the tranny apart check all the shift forks and gears for wear.Replace any part that is close to being bad along with the chain. Also take your secondary clutch apart and inspect the ramp buttons, spring and helix.
I would steer way clear of that dealer that wanted $800 to pull the tranny. The complete job is only a 3 hr job .For that price he should be putting in a brand new tranny.

I'm not sure how many miles are on it. It was my brothers quad originally and he put a racing clutch on it, and knowing the way he is....I'm sure that is was driven hard!
