Default problem with the sportsman 500

I have been riding my 500 for about 3 months now and a few weeks back i got stuck one day and put it in 4wd low got it out and next thing it started to pull to the right. Can anyone tell me what could cause that and how i could fix that. I went riding in NH and it only did it once and that was unloading it off the trailer. After that it hasnt done it. Any ideas if so please help me out so i can fix it myself without taking it to the shop.

Take a look at your all wheel drive. Sounds like one hub is engaged (typically will pull to the right when in reverse). The owner's manual has a brief piece about how to disengage it (page 53) "If one or both hubs remain engaged they can be disengaged by stopping, shifting to and moving in reverse. Then proceed forward again."

My 2000 SP500 did that a couple times earlier this summer, too. Both times it happened, it was after I went in reverse while in AWD. When I went to pull forward again, it pulled hard to the right. I put it back in reverse and backed up several feet (without pushing the reverse override button) and the pull was gone when I went forward again. My hub fluid is fine, so I'm not sure why it did this, and it hasn't happened in the last 200-300 miles.

coatsie whats up man we met up there in NH at the lodge we were staying at you were with andy & ed ? did you get your sportsman fixed? try backing it up a couple of times without using the override button I had this same problem with one of mine. the front hud does't disengage fully sometimes dont think its broke it's not just hanging up from all the shi#$ your riding thru.good Idea to change the fluids too. general maint. never hurts.
