Has anyone got their 400 dynoed and what were the results of hp at the rear wheel. Mine is running very good but down a6t Little Sahara I had it put on the dyno for the first time because I was just curious and it only came out to 31.8 hp. They did not have any tires to fit so they done it with my knobbys. Acouple of FI 700 Raptors went right before me and they were 51 to 54 hp. I tried to find them after I got done just to see how I did against them in the real world but couldn't find them.

Don't let the hp numbers fool you. Its all in how you get it to the ground. Clutching clutching clutching!

With the clutch set up I got now(in signature) I can usually beat all the predators, 660 raptors and banshees all of which only have pipes, mild port work, and a filter. I am sure there are exceptions but the ones I have run against, and talking to them afterwards that is all they claim they have. I have had to shed 70 lbs and put my daughter on it a time or two. So I know it has got to be more than 31.8 hp

you're right on the helix but do have too steep of starting angle, try a 42-36,with 3-2 violet hpd secondary spring,
with a 44 starting angle helix, you're loosing all your bottom end so the belt drop down the pulley too fast and you only got top end power, that why you got low hp at the rear wheels,bu SURE belt deflection is at the right spot.
run stocker belt only.let me known if that worked then....later...

Thankyou for the info Scramblered, I will try that helix as soon as I get the extra money. I have the HPD violet secondary but I will change the position when I chage the helix. By the way you say run the stocker belt, I have been running the aftermarket belt. the stock belt is better?

kevlar belt is a mess to clutch sheaves and when they become real hot,the stocker belt grib better than ever if properly well clutched,,no wear out, just a little more cleaning to do on them simply,,when you got the 42-36,put a
.030 or .035 shim behind the snap ring, that will drop starting angle to about 40.5-40.7 the sweet spot is there.
and by the way a 36 finish angle helix will only work on stock size rear tires,,wich seem to be your choice so it should work great,12-34 gearing, you may need to drop weight a little tough to run at the porper rpm.......
that is my real 2 cents on clutching that quad ,it take me a lot of test to end up to those results....
