Default Whats wrong with my trans??

Ok after getting frustrated with the search feature my 03 Predator is having problems with 4th gear. If I go into 4th it acts like it is a grab no gra of the gear, as if the clutch grabs, lets go and grabs the gear again continueously (sp??), any way I lost 4th. I have not done the update to the trans and have not had to replace my clutch yet. I have pounded the @#$^ out of this bike for 100-200 hours. Mostly dune riding, 95%. I like to jump, usually in 3rd gear wide open but never in 4th. I do ride the whooops in 4th like I stole it.

What would a trans do if I bent a shift fork?
What could it be?
A broken gear would sound like it was coming apart wouldnt it.
I guess I should have dumped the oil before posting

Any suggestions or things to check?

Default Whats wrong with my trans??

Ok, after a quick oil drain there are no shavings in the oil or filter, just normal clutch matter. So, any ideas? I hate to pay anyone to work on my stuff and like to fix it all myself. With that said I have heard you have to split the case to work on the trans. I am pretty compatent in turning a wrench and would like to do this myself. Is there anyone out there that has had a case apart and done trannie work themselves and have suggestions or things to look out for along the way?
