I agree with the fact that they are not the best, but they are the easiest to find and I have used them on everything: sport bike, lawn mowers, cars trucks and atv's with zero problems. Thanks for the info on other brands. Is there a site that shows test results on filters?

The highest mileage Polaris ATV I know of, a 96 425 magnum has has been run with Fram filters since the first oil change.

It still runs and sounds great and the engine has not been touched except for valve adjustment.

I do have the specs off the Wix site and some of the cross ref #s and comparisons for the twins (600/700/800) and singles (330/400/500).

For the twins the (direct cross ref.) Wix filter 51357 specs and the 51356 specs matches up very closely as an alternative.

Basically the only diff is the by-pass valve is set at 8-11 psi instead of the 8 psi on the 51357 and its burst pressure is also higher at 363 as compared to 280psi.
Pretty much the same story for the Wix 51365 only its .825" shorter.

A direct cross ref to the Wix 51356 is the Purolator PL14610, AC Delco PF2057, Mobil 1 M1-110 and the Fram PH7317.
The AC Delco PF2112 and PF1222 will also cross to these but do not buy the PF1222 as the diameter is too large to fit the twins.

The Wix 51358 for the singles (330/400/500) has a lower burst PSI @265, is shorter at -.620" and has a smaller gasket diameter as compared to the twin 51357 filter.

I bought a Purolator Pure one PL 14610 and noticed it didn't have the spring in the center as the others do, I don't know what diff this makes if at all . I'm using it now, many others have too.

I have used the Polaris filter, AC Delco 2057, the Wix 51357, Napa gold 1357 and Pure One PL14610 on my 700 without any problems to date and will try the Super Tech next unless I hear anything bad about it in the meantime.

Default 800 efi oil filter

Thanks for the info, It looks as though test results on the one I used Fram TG (tough guard) are pretty good, other fram filters not so good.
