Default 800 EFI Exhaust

I have a 2005 800 Sportsman and am considering getting a new stock set of header pipes to send in to be coated. Is there any place online I can get a set that wont cost an arm and a leg? Even a good set of used would work for this. Let me know is you have any ideas.

Thanks

Rob

I am looking at a place called Classic Coatings in Appleton, Wisconsin. I had emailed them a week or 2 ago and the guy who replied said they could coat them, but I should send them a picture of the exhaust. I did not do that yet, but he guessed around $150.00 to coat them. I believe that is coating them inside and out. You would want to ask them that, as I cant say for certain. I saw a pair of headers of a small block chevy racing engine that was coated there and they looked really sharp. If it dont cost to much to get a set of stock pipes, I will probly get it done. I would UPS the pipes to them and they ship them back when done. The place is around 1 hr 45 minutes from me, but shipping is easier and probly costs less than the gas I would use going there. Here is a link to their website -

Jet Hot's coatings are very durable.

A friend had an old 500 and they it had someone's cheap ceramic coating on it, but it still radiated a lot of heat.

Jet Hot contents their coating reduces heat by half and I know Hot Rod magazine tested that theory some time back. That and corrosion resistance are the reason I did it. But it looks nice too.

You may want to talk to www.PerformanceCoatings and www.ClassicCoatings for quotes. Both have websites.

I got a quote from them for about $100 + S&H to them.

Jim

"We'd charge $75 to coat your header in the Sterling finish. Add $20 for
the flat black, blue or grey finish. We'll need them here for 3-5 days
plus shipping time back. If the parts are chrome or nickel plated, add
$40 to the total and 2 days for stripping. Return shipping would be
about $27. I will send you our full information package to get you all
the coating benefits in greater detail.

Jet Hot also carries a coating called JET-HOT 2000. This coating runs up
to a temperature of 2400 degrees. The JET-HOT 2000 only comes in a flat
black, blue or grey finish and has a gritty texture on the outside. The
Jet Hot 2000 runs $25 more than the sterling silver finish and $5 more
per ft. This coating takes 2 days longer than the sterling silver
process. We suggest JET-HOT 2000 for set ups with nitrous, turbos,
superchargers, or towing vehicles.

All parts receive a 3 year unlimited guarantee that covers chipping,
peeling, cracking, discoloration, rusting. New parts also get a
lifetime rust-through warranty as well.

Please ship your parts to:

JET-HOT Coatings
5602 Orchard Rd
Pascagoula MS 39581
or
1840 West Drake Dr
Tempe AZ 85283 "
