if I remember right. The great honda's had a problem with the alternator not recharging on the forman 450's. Enough problems to have a recall and the part was back ordered for 3 months. so there gos the last reply out the window. If you let your quad sit you should get a (battery tender) it will trickle your battery slow while not in use and keep the battery active so when you do need it, its not sleeping

I figured a little child would make a bash over this. I guess he can't read and missed the last sentence about bashing.

If it is gonna sit for a long time, use fuel stabilizer. Even with fresh fuel in the tank, the carb will still have old gas in it until it starts & runs a while.
Alternative method, shut off the gas about 50 feet from where you park it. Drive it to it's parking place & let it idle until it dies. You can put it in neutral & rev the engine a little to burn the gas in the carb quicker. Then when you add the fresh gas, it will mix with what's there. Now open the fuel valve & it should start right up.
My Polaris never sat over a month yet, but it sat clost to it a couple times & was slow to start. Once running, it was fine & re-started good.
I used to have a Honda that wouldn't start after sitting for a month unless I drained the carb & turned the gas back on. Didn't have to add fresh gas, just drain the carb...strange. Not a Polaris - only problem, but I think they a little worse at this than most.

Hey settle down im just kiddin i dindnt mean to offend anyone. People take things way too seriosly these days. The new polaris's are cool but the older ones are junk i had one it averaged about $400 a month in repairs so i have my reasons to dislike polaris.

I'm with indydave, shut the fuel off when transporting. Snowmobiles are notorious for this problem, bcoming severely flooded during trailering.
