I noticed you have a Pure Polaris silencer with a different core? I have the same "canister" by the pictures but whatever the core is I have no idea. The dealer put the "canister" on the machine to try to move it at the end of the year. I bought it, thought it sounded cool but now I almost wish it was quiter.... I ran it with out the spark arrestor for a couple of hours... way to loud... Then I put two little stainless steel washers between each baffle assembly bolt increasing the gap... It seemed that the tight gap would clog with mud? I understand that some back pressure is good, mine is a 600. So tell me what you know about the alternative core.


I have a great little mod for the snorkel if you want I will send some pictures and explanation.

 

Ncriderforks thanks for the part #. It appears that my dealer wasn't aware of the upgrade mmmm.....I wish Polaris would tell us what they are improving and when.
Don't get me wrong, I'm a big Polaris fan but my bike was still under warranty when the upgraded shields came out.
Additionally the upgrade is $46.99 Cdn. and of course there are the couple hours of my time to install it. I’ve also read other threads with similar issues of upgrades coming out without notification. I just want to add mine in case any of the Polaris reps are monitoring….

The ceramic coating still interests me as well. You guys who have done it, have you also done the heat shields? I’m also really eager to hear the results before I throw some more money at it. Here it is around $200Cdn and shipping both ways to get it done.
