Default Polaris 500 EFI (07 Model)

I am looking to buy a reliable 4x4 quad. I know all about the Polaris AWD system, but I heard so many complaints that Polaris AWD systems are the worst, and the newer models are even worse.

The old models had a demand drive that the housing on the strut tower wore out on me, so I have to buy a new strut tower to have all 4 wheels spinning.

2 questions. Any help is appriciated.

Is there anyone that can help with my housing inside the wheel assembly. I tried adjusting the sleeves so they are flush. I have done that a couple times, and it works for a while (all 4 wheels spin.) Then it gives out. Is there a tap and die kit I could use? Like drill a hole through the two sleeves and that sleeve would stay in place??? Thanks

Question 2.... Is the New polaris awd system much like this? I know you DONT HAVE HUBS ANYMORE. Its all in the differential. I would like to find out as much information as possible I can. Any websites, printouts, information regarding the new polaris AWD system please post this.

HAS ANYONE HAD ANY PROBLEMS WITH THEIR AWD SYSTEM ON THE NEWER MODELS YET?

PLEASE POST HERE THE PROBLEM, AND WHAT YOU DID TO FIX IT!

Thanks guys

Are you using silicon on the sleeve when you asm. it???

I worked as a service tech for 4 years and once the rings are put in place with "silicon" they won't move.

I have owned 15-20 Polaris 4X4's since 1995 and have had NO problems with the 4X4 on any of them.

In fact, almost all I've read over the years from Polaris owners is how much they LOVE their 4X4.

It engages quickly, in fact much faster than other Mfgs like Bombardier. I've read where the Sporstman's outshine others in organized sled pulls and mudpits.

I really enjoy plowing snow with mine. Mine pulls at all 4 and combining that with the weight of the ATV make it a superior plow beast!

The people you most likely hear complaining about the AWD system being crappy, they are hard on stuff, as long as you aren't spinning your tires in a mud hole and popped it into AWD, then you will blow out the roller cage in the front diff. If you treat the system with some care, you will have a very good AWD system IMO
