Default Xplorer AWD problems..

I have an 01 Xplorer 250 4x4. I want to get larger size tires for it. I have the stock 489's on it right now. It has 23" on the front, and 24" on the back. I would like to see 25" tires on it.

What would happen if I put same size tires all around? (25")

How many teeth should I add/remove from my front sprocket. (I would like to keep back sprocket same size to save money. Front sprocket seems cheaper to change?

How does a gear ratio come into play with tire sizes? Like why does Polaris use diferent size tires? I heard the back spins 2 revolutions faster that the front.

Any help, or any answers to these questions would be much appriciated.

You do not want to go with the same size front and rear because it will bind the tranny. When you have a front tire smaller than the rear it is geared different from front to rear to get the same revolutions. You can go with 25on rear and 24 on front. Just as long as you keep 1 size smaller in front you will be ok. The only way to get the same size front and rear is to change gear ratio in the front differential.

Hey I dont want to loose a lot of power. Will I loose drastic power?
And what type of mud tires do you reccommend?
Should I change the front sprocket to even out power with the old sizes on it?
