Getting a 700 but I have a couple questions
Whats up guys I am getting a sportsman 700EFI next week black/silver. And I am buying a rack extender and winch cover. Before I get it I want to know if it has melting plastic. I also want to know if the free winch is a warn. And any other opinions about this atv.
THANKS

The winch is a warn. The plastic shouldn't melt but ask them to order an updated heat shield for it. It works so much better. You will love your polaris. I think they are the strongest built 4-wheeler out. It may not be a speed demon but it will take everything you throw at it. Good luck

the new polaris are coming with a polaris winch and not the warn. They started this on the later 06 models around may i guess. From looking at it, seems to be the same as a warn but with a stronger motor turning it but it retails at somewhere around $400 (CND) rather than the warn at $700 (CND). not sure if that means anything but.... thought id share.

Getting a 700 but I have a couple questions
rtboy, I have a black/silver 2006 700 efi. Haven't yet but probably will put an extender rack on the rear but not the front. Have both the front brush guard and rear double bumpers along with the Warn 2500 winch. Haven't had any heating or melting plastic issues. I have the 800 header pipe to go on it as soon as I decide which aftermarket exhaust can/muffler I'm going to put on it. When you order a heat shield for the 800 header pipe,Polaris automatically sends the updated one with instructions on how to mount it. I'm always looking for more power and less weight. The two don't always go hand in hand. The only things I really didn't like on this machine were the soft front springs.(changed to MV7 front springs) and the front tires.(currently swapping them for either Bighorn radials or Mudlite XTRs). I weigh 215 lbs, ride extremely hard and fast in pretty rough country and also use a snowplow in the winter on it, so the problems I've encountered may not ever be a concern to you. Other than what I've already noted the machine has been as bulletproof as any I've ever owned and I am well pleased with it's overall performance. If you have any other questions feel free to ask.
