Default a slit in the side of a tire

my buddy has a polaris 500 ho with the same tires as mine, after a day mine got cut right open he got aboout a 3 quartor of a inch rip in the side, is there a way to patch this, thanks

p.s they are bearclaw tires

There are tire shops that can cut out the bad part and mold in new rubber. We do it all the time around here when sidewalls get cut.

awesome, hes guna be happy when he gets that news, so should he just take the tire off and bring it in to any dealer, im guna do this with my 3 inch cut, thanks alot 2manytoys

you can try to patch it but when you ride hard and turn hard it might just blow out again i tryed it but had no luck i had blackwater tires and i was rock cralwing i ended up buying new tires good luck

I fixed mine with 3 plugs and it has been holding for about 3 months now and no problems. Many others have done the same with no probs.
