My 2001 Sportsman 500 won't stop moving when you want to stop and come to a idle.It was creeping a bit before but now it's like the belt is fully engaged.
I only have 1200 miles on it.I haven't been driving it much until this year..What would cause this ? Do i need to take it in to the shop or could I fix it myself?.I haven't done any work on ATV's before..thanks

I just brought mine into the shop for the exact same reason. 06 Sportsman 500 HO EFI. The shop thinks a module flash is going to fix it. Aparently a tsb covered it and that was the fix. I will let you know.

I will check the idle ..I think it was idling a bit high ..hope that's all it is .I am on vacation this week and was hoping to do some trails. If i need to take it to a local shop it would be Tuesday before he could look at it

I checked the idle it's not the problem..I will have to take it into a shop..I had put a new battery in it a while ago and the drain hose had fell off and the battery had drained some acid from the over flow onto the belt cover almost eating a hole into it..not good..
