Default she burnin up

i have a guy that i work with and he has an 04 700 and on 05 800 they are both using oil. no leaks and its not going in transmission.he uses about 4 ounces for a 70 mile ride. The 800 he had rebuilt by a dealer and is still in break in period. his wife has an 04 700 and hers is fine. i asked him if he does pulling and muddrunning,he said yes.my thought is he over heated the machines with no air flow.and he told me the fans runs alot.has anyone had these problems or has ideas? any help welcome!

How was the machine broke in? Is he running a stock air filter?
He needs to do a leak down and see what % he is getting and where the leak is.

If it's 14% he's done. Tear the engine down and fix it. I like to see no more than about 5%.
