Default Rubicon trail on an X2

Just got back from running the Rubicon on my X2.....wow what a kick A@@ machine, only had to use the winch once (to get up some ledge) No bypasses needed for this rig. Anyone else ever ride it?

Default Rubicon trail on an X2

I have made the run in a jeep but I want to do it on my 800. I read that they have gone nuts with restrictions on the trail and if you go off the trail more than 25' from center, which is not well marked in spots, it is a $ 275 fine, strictly enforced etc. Where did you go to/from and how long a ride was it? Is it the pain in the --- as I have read?? Sounds like you enjoyed it.

Default Rubicon trail on an X2

Started at loon lake and went to the little sluice with a bunch of guys in scouts. I was the only quad in the bunch....got some weird stares.
The restrictions are pretty bad, but easy to follow. The only tuff part was staying on the trail going over the slabs....very easy to lose the trail. GPS saved my butt many a time since i was alone on the way back.
Very fun ride, just be sure youre up for it, its intense from the very start, and never lets off. I dont think i ever got over 7mph the whole time.
A weekday is the best time to go. I passed 26 4x4s, and 5 atvs heading in while i was driving out. That can make for alot of waiting since you cant always get around (legal, and physicaly impossible sometimes)
I would seriously recomend it though...youve got to try it at least once.
