Do any of you guys have racks on your scramblers? Are they practical? Are they ever in the way for riding? I like a lot of things about the Scramblers but I would have to be able to do a little "work" with it to "justify" owning one.

When I first bought mine, I had the front and rear racks and a 2 gallon gas canister rack. They are very practical...especially the rear rack. If you get into stuff a little too deep it is perfect for pushing and pulling. Front one is good for little things...once I took it off I realized how strange it looked.

Well I had a rack on my Sport, as far as hauling stuff it was great, I think it looked good too. I got an old ATC rack from a buddy free, then weldded angle iron to attach it to the frame. I think it looked good. The only bad thing, once I came down off a jump, bottomed out and smashed my tail bone... Anyway, you can see my pics at....

Depends on what type of riding you'll be doing. My thought is if you plan on ever doing any jumping or hill climbing, think twice before adding a rack - they make it very difficult to bail out if the need arises. If that's not your type of riding, then go for the racks.

Thants just my 2 cents.

I have a factory rear rack on my Scrambler, and I've hauled as much as 100 lbs of feed on the back of it. The factory rack isn't the best design for tying things down, you may want to look at the PRM Products racks.

I have a factory rack on my SC500. It works great. They now have extenders for factory racks, about 8" high, think I might get em. Course that would make it real hard to bail if the need arises.

I used a rack on the rear of my scram. i bought a aftermarket rack, which will give it more room than the stock polaris rack, but they dont fit on as nice as stock ones. liked it a lot, but not my style.

D84, I have a 400 2x4 w/back rack. This is great for stopping me from rolling over when doing a wheelie. After I out in a clutch kit & put on a HPD pipe. And then a needed a little more, VForce Delta 2, reed spacer then. Then I blow my top end so I replaced with a wisco and ported my own head. Now I'm glad I brought that rear rack, this thing is a wheeling dude. I now have a DS, it's only about 5-10yrds back in a 1/4mile. That's good for an auto 400. Plus the rack is good for bring tools along for a long ride. Which I can no longer do with my ds.

Thanks for the info on the racks. What about a hitch? Is there one on the scambler?
