Default Do you ride two up much ?

I took a few passangers out the last few trips. My 13 year old daughter ..hardly new she was on the bike..
The last passanger was alot heavier. That made a big difference. We still made it to where we were going but the steering was alot harder.
Even though the front end was lighter.Power wise I can't complain..But it sure decreases the gas mileage..
My brother has a Cat TRV..I haven't had a chance to compare it to my SP 500..Maybe next trip..
If you have a two up ATV now how does it compare to driving two up on a one person ATV(with a seat)..thanks
I am thinking of getting a two up ATV ..

We've carried two and three people on our SP700. Results:

* With an adult and my 4YO son sitting on the gas tank, machine performance is unchanged but steering is obviously more difficult.

* With two adults, the passenger has to sit behind the operator and the weight shifts noticeably rearward. Steering becomes less precise. Going up hills is a big deal because the front (steering) tires are even more unweighted.

* With three (child in front, adult operator, adult on rear) things get awkward and dangerous. I've only done this a couple of times and won't be doing it again. Just too much risk, even at slow speeds.

I wouldn't go very fast at ALL with more than one person on an ATV. Just too much chance for an accident. Multiple riders changes the ATV from a sport machine to simple transportation IMHO.

I have a kimplex seat on the back of my bike for my 7 year old daughter. I don't notice any differance at all.......you are talking about getting a two up quad.....Do you mean with just a seat or one MADE for two up riding........The reason is the one's made for two up riding have a longer wheel base and are more stable for driving with passangers......The fuel may differ with these quads due to the larger size.......someone else will tell you about them and how they are on fuel riding single or double.......caper.....

Ive done quite a bit of two up riding on my X2 since i bought it. My wife is about 120ish and with the extra gear we always carry theres probably around 150lbs on the back of the quad. Ive yet to notice much of a difference at all...if anything it rides a little softer, but hardly so you could tell. As for gas mileage, i stopped carrying extra gas, even when going two-up....last day trip we took through the mountains put 45miles on the quad and used up just 2 gallons. With a 6 gallon tank thats way more than ill ever ride in one day.

The price of a liter of regular gas is 97.9 here..But i usually go to Wilson's which gives you 2 cents off for cash or debit..
The price was up as high as $1.26 a while back..
I always use premium gas in the SP..What do you use ?

I use 87 octane in my two sp 450's that's what the owners manual calls for min. However in or Pontiac grand prix GTP supercharged I use super or high grade which is 91 octane due too the higer compression engine............caper...... In Huntsville Ontario Reg 87 grade is 82.5 cents/L...........caper...........

Does your manual call for 91 octane because it is a 500 H.O. engine.......Or just 87 min. caper
