OK, I was ready to order my clutch kit for my Trail Blazer. HPD's kit is $80. Hot Seats kit is $159.

The difference I find is that HPD's kit does not include the helix. According to them, there cut would not be a majorly different from stock on the TB so they don't include it. Other than that, they say it is very similar to there agressive kits.

Hot Seat's kit does include the helix and they say the cut is dramatically different than stock.

Does anyone have any experience with the two kits that explain why the have conflicting stories? I'd like to get off only spending $80, but would gladly pay the $159 if the extra peformance is worth it.

Thanks!

I have the Hotseat kit. I think its great but I can't compare it to the HPD kit. I hear that it really only makes a difference if you are into drag racing. I test all my engine mods by running a timed test on a 300 foot straight-away. In my opinion you will only gain a few tenths of a second with the helix. So for the money the HPD would be the way to go!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks for the info.

Does anyone else have any thoughts on how much the modded helix plays into the whole clutch dynamic? If were only talking a very small bit of extra performance with the new helix - I don't thing it justifies spending double the money.

I talked to Darrell at HPD when I bought my clutch kit. He said the different helix was needed if I intended on drag racing. Other than that, he said it was a waste of cash. How often do you get guys talking you out of spending more dough on their products?

Thanks QuadFather.

I think I've made up my mind to go with HPD for both pipe and clutch. I like to drag race for fun, but it doesn't seem I'll know the difference of not having the helix.
Enough people sound satisfied with what they've gotten from HPD and I've heard more than a few unhappy remarks about Hot Seat. Word of mouth says alot to me.
