Pros:
Power and speed
Auto tranny always in peak power
Great suspension for moderate trail riding
Comfort like no other
Easy to mod...(and essential)

Cons:
Weight
Suspension stinks for very aggressive riding
Needs a few mods to be competitive to other sports quads
Tires could be better

The way I see it, is that now with all the mods I added, it is the perfect quad for me. Sure, I added a couple grand in all, but it is now 100x better than stock and the perfect "auto-trannied" 4x4 sports quad. With only a few hundred dollars the 400 rips and is a great ride.

Good luck!

Everything Xplor said plus it can beat a 400ex in a drag.

I must have said to myself a dozen times last weekend that I am so glad I have a 4x4 Scrambler. I am equal w/ my friends modified Banshee up to his 6th gear in a drag so I can have fun at speed plus he got stuck 8 to 10 times & we had to pull him up a nasty hillclimb once wheras the 4x4 Scrambler actually accelerated up all the hills w/o a hint of slowing at all. It was alittle icy, snowy & muddy. I've lightened 55+lbs plus added the Works front & PEP rear suspension, lowered it 1.5" & widened it so it handles GREAT & is VERY stable at high speed & sharp off camber turns. I ride all winter in the snow, mud, slush & the 2wds get stuck or stay home. If I could lighten it another 55+lbs then I would have the quad of my dreams. It is very reasuring, when venturing into new trails, to have the 4wd under you. You can figure that if the 2wd can make it up hills then your guarenteed to make it. It gets scary sometimes being stuck & sliding backwards on a really nasty hillclimb or being stranded w/ no way out becasue you cant make it out of an area that you went into but all the 4wds have no problems. I've experienced all these conditions w/ other riders on their 2wds so thats why I mention it & as a mater of fact after several accidents they are now on 4wds. Much safer going up hills.
